Sprenger Rubber Pelham Flexible – 145mm
Rubber bits from Sprenger are made of soft, but sturdy rubber with a stainless steel wire inside to reinforce the mouthpiece. Rubber usually has an “erase effect”. It is therefore important that horses that use these bits chew well. If the horse does not produce enough saliva, the bit will become uncomfortable. Unlike metal bits, there is a risk that the rubber could be bitten through if the bit is not properly attached and come into contact with the teeth. The Pelham is a bit that has extra leverage on the neck. Pressure has been applied to the plies by using a curb chain. In a way, the Pelham is a combination of a bar and a bartack.
