Vitamin K tablets are usually given to dogs after known, or suspected, consumption of the anti-coagulant type of rodent poison. These poisons act by causing rodents to die of internal bleeding. Vitamin K is able to counteract the effects of the poison, but needs to be given to cover the whole period of time while the poison might be active within the dog.
