Vitamin K tablets are usually given to dogs after known, or suspected, consumption of the anti-coagulant type of rodent poison. These poisons act by causing rodents to die of internal bleeding. Vitamin K is able to counteract the effects of the poison, but needs to be given to cover the whole period of time while the poison might be active within the dog. Always consult your veterinarian before treating with Vitamin K1 tablets, treatment depends on the amount and generation of rodenticide ingested.
