Korsteel JP Sweet Iron Full Cheek Snaffle – 5.5 inches

The Korsteel ‘JP’ range of bits have been designed to reduce the nutcracker action commonly associated with single joint bits. The mouthpieces are curved, which gives the tongue more room and allows the bit to lie more sympathetically in the mouth. Sweet Iron metal encourages the horse to accept the bit and the contact by increasing salivation. The metal oxidises in the mouth which produces the ‘sweet’ taste. The single joint of this bit creates pressure on the tongue, the roof and the bars of the mouth. The full cheeks are perfect for horses who have difficulty in responding to the rein’s turning aids – the cheeks help to guide the head in the directed that the rider wants to go in. This bit is brilliant for young horses who need a soft bit but with a little extra guidance….
