The mouthpiece is also slimmer and lighter, as this bit is commonly used with a curb bit, such as a Weymouth, to make up a pair of double bridle bits. The eggbutt rings keeps the bit more still in the horse’s mouth than a loose ring bit, which can encourage the horse to take a better contact.
